Sentimental at The Coffee Way

The other night, I passed by The Coffee Way along Maginhawa Street. I missed the place, so I decided to have coffee and stay there for a bit.

The last time I was there, I was with someone I once considered spending the rest of my life with. We had been stuck in Philcoa for several minutes, unable to get a ride to Manila, so we decided to take a trike to Maginhawa where we could chill for a while.

For some reason, we ended up hanging out at The Coffee Way. It was a nice night, and we were still very hopeful and full of love back then.

Our relationship has long been over, and I am happy with someone else now. Lots of other things have happened and changed in me, too. Yet that place looked the same.

Sometimes I cannot help but be amazed by how unchanged places seem even after so many years that when you visit them again, all you can do is look back to the old days and remember the old you. And although you kind of feel sad about the things you’ve lost, you are also thankful for all the things you’ve gained.

Then, you suddenly begin to wonder what the future may bring.

PS. The Coffee Way still serves decent coffee and food at affordable prices. WiFi and charging of gadgets remain free. Nice, right?
